The pipeline which is set to degrade the water and some of the sacred ground in Dakota, has been one of the most contentious issues and has sparked quite a lot of controversy among the Americans. One of the most influential groups in the efforts to make sure the pipeline is not elected has been the veterans. This is a group that traverses the cultural divide in America to represent the unity of different cultures on a cause for the betterment of the society (Worland, 2017).

This is with reference to ensuring the efforts of the protesters are faulted by the lack funds to push for the halt of the project. The veterans under the campaign dubbed, GoFundMe have already raised an estimated $186,767 thousand US dollars towards the efforts of the cause. Their goal is to collect an estimated half a million towards the movement. These are funds that are aimed at going towards the supplies for the North Dakota protest camp (CNN Wire, 2017). At the same time, some of the funds will also be going towards the transportation of the veterans to and from the standing rock area along with funding the operations (Ellis, 2016). Last year, the veterans managed to raise more than $1,155,780 US dollars. This money went into the efforts of supporting the transportation efforts along with the operations. The president has embarked on efforts to see the pipeline completed despite the fact that, it poses a climatic dilemma for the nation not just for the Dakota communities (Worland, 2017).
