Description
Assignment Objective: In this assignment you will demonstrate your knowledge and ability to apply the following concepts from Chapter 1: the elements of human communication, the various modes or views of communication, the principles of human communication, various types of noise in communication and content and relational messages.
Respond to the following prompts in college essay format as described in week one. Your paper should be about 500 words, contain an introductory paragraph that includes a hook and thesis statement, includes supporting paragraphs that specifically answer the prompt and applies terminology and concepts from the reading, and ends with a concluding paragraph that summarizes your main points. It should be typed in a clear 12 pt. font and double-spaced. A large part of your grade will be based on your ability to apply the terminology and concepts from the reading. Be sure to underline or boldface the concepts and terminology as you apply them. See the grading rubric by clicking on "Short Paper Grading Rubric" under "Assessment" for information about how your paper will be graded.
1. In your introduction, describe a recent interpersonal communication situation. It can be any simple interaction you had with a friend, family member or co-worker the content of your paper. 
2. Tell how the elements of human communication were used in the interaction. Be sure to include the types of noise present.
3. Explain how the communication was purposeful and transactional. Explain any ambiguity that was present.
4. Tell the content and relational messages present in the interaction. 
5. End with a concluding paragraph that summarizes the content of your paper.

The Communication Process
The recent interpersonal I recently had was with a friend I have not seen for years. We had dinner together for about 5 hours and then transferred to a coffee shop. We talked about what happened during the years that had passed; all of the good and bad experiences we had. That is when you can test a friendship because it is as if nothing has changed even if we did not see each other that long.
The elements of human communication were used during this interaction because when we started talking about how our lives have been, we came up with an idea to start meeting regularly again. Now that we are older, there is a chance for us to make our friendship more productive. The message of the idea is to be a positive influence towards others who are in the same age and come up with brilliant ideas to succeed in life. The conversation happened at a restaurant where the ambiance is perfect for good conversation and this is how the encoding happened. Like the encoding, the other received by message by personally conversing with me and the receiver acknowledged my input in the conversation by agreeing that we do something profitable together.
