World Expo is the short form of the world exposition, or world's fair, or universal show (occasionally written as ‘Expo’ for short). These exhibitions are of different kinds and are usually held in varying places of the world (Maktūm 40). World Expo is a vast public event at which things from all over the world are displayed, or an international exposition that brings out exhibits and partakers from all over the world. The first ever world Expo was held in The Crystal Palace, London, in 1951. The expo was titled "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations" and was considered as the first ever international Expo of manufactured products. Since its foundation in 1851, the character of world expositions has developed. Three periods can be distinguished: the period of cultural exchange, the period of industrialization and the period of nation branding ("United Arab Emirates: Selected Issues"12). Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This expo will be the first to be held in the Middle East and Asia. Expo Dubai 2020 will create jobs in the tourism sector, as well as increasing the number of building developments in the country to meet the infrastructure needs. The electricity and construction industries are likely also to benefit from the expo (Spraggon et al, 1). In addition, the telecommunication industry, transportation and IT will also profit from the creation of jobs and demand from international visitors. According to MEED report, there will be a creation of more than 277,000 jobs before 2021 ("United Arab Emirates: Selected Issues"15). Among these jobs, 40 percent will be in the fields of tourism and travel sector. The creation of employment will improve the overall standard of the companies' workforce, greater productivity leading to quality output.
