Although the Coca-Cola Company is a global business, it has implemented mechanisms that facilitate its operations at the local level of every community where it conducts its operations across the globe. Ideally, the company is critical about its corporate social responsibility in more than two hundred countries where it conducts its businesses. In this regard, it is clear that the Coca-Cola Company has acknowledged the need for building and promoting better societies while pursuing its profit-making interests. There is, however, a need to create more programs and make changes to the existing once to enhance their effectiveness.
With an enduring dedication and devotion in building sustainable communities, the Coca-Cola Company has undertaken initiatives that are aimed at reducing its environmental effects, promoting healthy living, and enhancing economic development for different communities. It is critical to comprehend that the company has established partnerships with its bottling partners and other organizations such as the Global Water Challenge, the Ocean Conservancy, and the United Nations Development Porgramme to boost the company’s initiatives to protect watersheds (Coca-Cola Company). It is, however, necessary to ensure that the company should also explore other measures that may be considered to provide clean water and sanitation to people living in underserved areas. Additionally, the company is also urged to reevaluate its water use policies and procedures in its production centers to ensure effective use of the available water; the company can also set water reuse policies; this would minimize the amount of wastes.
Ideally, by exploring ways through which disadvantaged communities may have access to water, the company will be strengthening its culture of promoting the needy and underserved communities in areas where the company carries its business operations. This will also help the company reinforce its social responsibility initiatives. Most importantly, workable water reuse policies will be critical in minimizing the water usage and competition of this scarce resource with other companies.
