As researchers put it, brain drain occurs when skilled and experienced workers leave an organization to join another or retire after several years of work (Dodani & LaPorte 487). This disturbs human resource managers as they ponder on how to continue providing the skilled personnel to their companies. As an HR manager, my strategy to solve this is by training current employees and incorporating technology.
One of the gaps left when the old and skilled employees retire is the experience of the operations of the organization. To fill this gap, most human resources recruit or outsource extra employees. I will prevent this by ensuring sufficient training of young employees to fill the gaps. To do proper training, I must first identify the strengths of the employees nearing their retirement dates, then find out where the other employees whose contracts are still long are not so skilled.
