Analysis of Race Dynamics in Advertising

Essay Instructions:

Blog 2 : This entry will involve an analysis of race dynamics in advertising. To do so, follow these steps:
Choose an advertisement, either video or still-image, that contains depictions of people.
Describe the patterns around race that you see in the advertisement. For example, which racial/ethnic groups (White, Black, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Latino/Hispanic) are visible? Are people in certain race groups organized into particular roles and/or actions?
Secondly, consider the decoding process you went through when watching this advertisement. What sorts of meanings about race did you “read” in these advertisements? In particular, if someone were to learn about racial dynamics in the U.S. purely through this ad, what might (s)he think?
**Be sure to include a web link to this ad at the end of your blog entry.
