This video is very interesting. When I first saw Taylor in the video I was curious to know what she wanted to share. When I watched this video in TED I thought that she was losing it. I wondered how she was able to survive from that awful incident. I wondered if she has ever worked. But everything makes me think that Taylor is a competent and an extraordinary woman. Her story is very inspiring and astonishing as well. In the video, she makes no excuses or explanations but states that she continues to battle with her left part of the brain which was affected for better. She even offers some tips on how it can be done.
According to the video, Jill Bolte Taylor suffered from a stroke. In 1996 December 10th, Bolte Tylor only woke up to find out that she was experiencing a stroke. This was after she discovered an abnormal bleeding from an abnormal congenital connection between the vein and the artery in the left hemisphere of her brain, an arteriovenous malformation. During the stroke, Jill Taylor lost some cognitive functions. All her brain functions had shut down from speech, motion, memory, and self-awareness. It took eight years for Jill Taylor to recover. It was after this period she started recovering her ability to think, talk and walk. In the video, Taylor asserts that she became a baby in the body of a woman.
