Article Review: Advocacy or Subservience for the Sake of Patients?
The article focused on determining whether nurses should be advocates of patients ready when need to question the authority of physicians or be skilled and caring practitioners that must always respect and obey the medical decisions of physicians on essential issues (Kuhse 136).
In the past there had been nurses that were brave enough to challenge the physician’s orders, however occasionally; nurses need new metaphors to capture the comprehension of their duties before they could attempt to easily defy the decisions made by the physicians especially when the life of the patient was at stake.
The article made arguments to determine whether nursing is a naturally subservient profession.
