a) Cabinet of curiosities (wunderkammern): These are rooms where elite scholars (princes and members of the aristocracy) displayed their most epic work of art. The displays represented the creators’ understanding of the environment.
b) Objet trouve: it is a man-made or natural object found by chance but has aesthetic value. The word was used from the 20th century to indicate that any object could be considered to be a work of art as long as it had some value.
2. Who was Aristotle and what are his views about what constitutes art and nature? (100-150 words)
Aristotle was a Greek philosopher during the classical period and is considered to be one of the greatest thinkers in ethics, politics, and psychology. Aristotle identifies things pertaining to the “muses” (poetry, music, painting, and sculpture) as what constitutes art.
