Introduction
This paper talks about the analysis of soundtracks in a film. It addresses the contributions that the sound design is making to develop the narrative of the scene and shaping the overall aesthetic.
In the scene from the movie "The Wizard of Oz," the Tinman, the Scarecrow, and Dorothy are trying to reach their final destination, the Wizard of Oz in the Emerald City. On their journey, they entered a scary forest where they started pondering on all the possible bad situations that could occur. The scene is dim and dull, as opposed to the rest of the movie. They go from being hopeful to slow-paced and worried. The mood is nervous and scary. The music in this scene is suspenseful and dark, portraying a point of synchronization.

The genre, style, and dynamics of the music played were precise to the situation and scene. It was effective because it easily brought upon suspense toward the situation and also used key elements to contribute to the mood of fear (Plummer and Mary 46). This piece was chosen for this scene because it has dynamics that evoke the listener to be more intrigued by the movie scene and what happens when the song hits its pivotal moment. It corresponds perfectly with the scene and even the pace the characters are walking (O'Halloran and Kay 87).
When Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchel) is introduced in the "tales of two cities" (3.1), a sense of hope is conveyed through soundtrack music.
