The play would consist of a basic three-act structure and a series of rising and falling actions for the climax and resolution. In the introductory phase of Once on this Island, the main plot will be established with the main characters along with their goals and conflicts. The stage will be depicted with a village on an island setting – a blanket of sand scattered on stage, with effects of splashing water as if from the sea, from a sandbag embankment (Allen).
