The image represents fishing boats at the Newfoundland in 1822. It was drawn by Francia after the Napoleonic war, and when then Newfoundland and Labrador were experiencing tremendous economic hardships. This was the period between 1815 and 1832. The picture contained of three big and visible sailing ships and another one at a far distance. There are also some images of other two sailing boats which were used by fishermen in their work.
