During the second half of the 20th century, significant musical trends ensued. For that reason, researchers’ uncovered some of the artistic trends that were existent. Minimalistic style is the most recent approach in music, which gained prominence because of its uniqueness of tone and recording. Christensen avers that the minimalistic style entails a return to a simplistic and tonal style with an emphasis on repeated patterns (54). The music composers who adopt the style strive to attain simplicity in music. Therefore, minimalism is likely to be one of the most significant movements of the 20th century. Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Terry Riley, and La Monte Young are ideal examples of American composers, who adopted the music technique in their composition.
