(1) What are the major reasons for the University Bookstore’s obsolescence problems?
The first major reason is the program that the university uses to back the book they use. Textbook revisions have become less common, and textbooks can now be acquired through alternative ways. The number of cancelled classes and dropping the course has increased, making it challenging for the university store to figure out the expected enrollment. The second cause is the policy of retuning new books to publishers. The returned books are accepted from students even with broken seals. However, the same are rejected by publishers. Many of the publishers charge a certain fee so as to accept used book, thus reducing the value of the books they accept back.
