It is a common belief that knowledge is indeed power. This is often used in many contests, speech, or even as a tagline in news stations. However, what most people do not know is that the origin of knowledge is power and knowledge becomes power. Hence, this becomes a continuous cycle where power is the beginning and the end.
Power is the beginning of knowledge, and it is always present in creating knowledge. This is because of the many definitions of power. It could mean strength, influence, supremacy, or potential. An example of power as potential is when the activists and feminists questioned the term “objectivity,” which has been used for a long time due to masculinity. Here, the imagined “they” is only composed of masculinist scientists who were continuously given grants to use laboratories while the imagined “we” are the groups, like the feminists, who have a body but failed to be recognized by the society.
