Factors That Contribute to Employee Satisfaction
Introduction
For quite a long time, employee engagement and satisfaction has been the subject of different research projects, and experts mainly focus on absenteeism, turnover rate, devotion to work, pay packages, and other aspects. According to Azlinzuraini Ahmad, employees show more interest in jobs that guarantee sufficient chances of career grooming besides regular salaries and weekly or monthly bonuses. Multinational companies and brands like PepsiCo, McDonald’s, Samsung, Google, Facebook, Coca-Cola and others have achieved success because they tend to create a balance between employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction (Ahmad, 2018).
Factors That Contribute to Employee Satisfaction
A large number of factors contribute to employee satisfaction, and it may not be possible for a single company to take care of all of them. However, the most important and effective factors have been discussed below.
1. Sufficient Chances of Career Development and Self-Grooming
Graduates love applying for jobs at companies where they are provided with plenty of opportunities for career development and self-grooming. These are two main aspects to engage the hard-working and dedicated workforce. Whether you own a startup or an established firm, it is important for you to engage your employees through career development opportunities. For example, if a person is working at a junior level for months and has always shown great performance, then he certainly deserves the promotion and a better pay package. Allow them to manage their work, set their time, and work in the way they are comfortable with. Employers who keep pressurizing their employees to give their best and meet the tightest deadlines frequently end up damaging their own business because the employees soon lose their interest in such jobs and begin looking for alternatives (Ezam, 2018).
2. Flexibility at the Workplace
Some employees can work under pressure and perform well throughout the month, while the others may require a significant amount of time to accomplish their tasks. So, it is important for an employer to understand the mental capabilities of his workers and provide them with the flexibility to choose their own working hours. Companies that hire both full-time and part-time workers get more success than organizations that hire full-time workers only and ask them to do all the things. These days, people even establish virtual offices and distribute tasks among their employees based on their availability, skills, educational background, and experience. If you have many tasks in-hand and your full-time and part-time employees are unable to meet the deadlines, then establishing a virtual office and assigning tasks to freelance workers will be a perfect idea (Leah-Martin, 2017).
3. Good Salary Packages and Bonuses
Besides the regular salary packages, employees deserve weekly and monthly bonuses based on their overall performance. Salary has long been a sensitive topic to talk about, and various people are not...
