Alibaba Group was founded in 1999 by a group of people being led by Jack Ma. According to Bloomberg.com, Jack Ma, in collaboration with 80 investors, scraped $80,000 to start an online marketplace geared towards the Chinese companies. The founders saw the emergence of growing internet technologies as a pathway to seamless possibilities for small business to grow, innovate and compete favorably in both local and global economies. Based on the springboard of the internet as leverage, Alibaba Group established a website that could aid Chinese exporters, entrepreneurs and manufacturers to access international markets.
