Introduction
The state of health for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is poor and demands attention from both the national and state government. The Australian First Peoples have been socially disadvantaged ever since their initial contact with colonial forces. The NAIHO statement envisions a situation whereby the well-being of the Aboriginal Australian is covered both physically, socially, emotionally and culturally. Therefore, this essay will propose a health strategy that can be utilized to enhance healthcare access and enable the First Australians to experience a holistic well-being as envisaged by the NAIHO statement. In doing so, the paper will evaluate how such a strategy will impact my healthcare practice, including how I connect and cooperate with Aboriginal Australians families, patients, and healthcare staff. More so, the essay will highlight how the strategy will enable the closing of the gap in healthcare provision and evaluating how concepts like cultural safety, collaboration and self-determination can be incorporated.

The Australian Commonwealth has supported these initiatives both financially and by instituting policies that promote community-based healthcare (Davy et al., 2016).
Indeed, the primary objective of a healthcare strategy is to entrench equality and access to healthcare. Moreover, the healthcare goals must be consistent and ensure that they fulfill the needs of the Indigenous community. A comprehensive strategy must address children and provide a good beginning to their lives as well as guarantee that adults live a full and active life—meeting their full potential (Australian Government, 2015). Encumbrances like inequality and racism should be addressed applying an efficient health strategy which ensures that the First Australians are guaranteed a high quality, affordable and practical provision of health care. An effective strategy should encompass dutiful relationships and enact guidelines that discipline against discriminatory behavior and policy. Hence, the main agenda of the healthcare plan would be to eradicate racism within the healthcare system. Racism acts as a soci...
