Bariatric surgery, also known as weight loss surgery, consists of a variety of procedures performed on obese people (Pinnock, 2016). The purpose or goal is to help them get rid of extra pounds and to bring them back to a normal or healthy life. In this type of hormonal surgery, the alteration in gut hormones is developed as a result of restrictions and malabsorption of the procedure.
Once a person has gone through the surgery, it becomes necessary for them to follow the recommended dietary guidelines. These guidelines are typically provided by the healthcare expert and the goal is to limit the number of calories a person consumes on a daily basis.
