Journalism is changing the information coverage as in the past the mass media relied on scarcity and control of information without minimal collaboration from the citizens Democratization of digital communication tools and the popularization of internet use, allows both citizens and professionals to generate more content than previous eras, and the citizen journalists also inform others about what the media fails to report. This critical analysis further evaluates the conclusion made by different writers in the influence of citizen news in the news industry
To Allan and Peters (2015), the concept of witnessing increasingly noteworthy as contextualizing both news production and protest movements is closely linked with the historical and cultural significance of witnessing.
