Ideally, job satisfaction is a key factor in employee engagement that ultimately, leads to productivity and improved performance. Many studies have been done to show that lack of job satisfaction is a major problem in the modern workplaces. However, it is important for organizations/employers to know that there are crucial factors that contribute most to employee satisfaction (Shan et al. 2014).
One of the most important factors that contributes to employee satisfaction is recognition or appreciation for their work. Employers who ignore open communication channels and fairly accommodative interaction with their employees are likely to harbor unsatisfied workforce (Shan et al. 2014). Additionally, work-life balance is also an important factor in ensuring employee satisfaction. When one is experiencing trouble at home or at the workplace, it affects overall performance. In order to enhance satisfaction, employers should encourage their employees to detach themselves from work issues when they are off or on leave. Even e...
