The Black Americans are known for their knowledge in basketry, pottery, and ironwork as well as the use of motor and pestle for winnowing rice. However, the interaction between the Blacks and Whites contributed to the modification of the ideas that the Negros came with into the US. Therefore, the assignment focuses on the origin and the improvements that had been made on the traditional shotgun house architecture.
The shotgun houses are associated with the slaves in the US who were the Indians and Black Americans. The houses were common in Haiti and Louisiana where most Blacks lived. Therefore, the houses were considered to belong to the less fortunate in the society.
