Sexuality Becomes the Tool Of Society
Introduction
Increased advocacy for civil rights has led to the achievement of many changes across the globe. The changes range from abolishing slavery, suppressions of racism, and above all, the establishment of inclusivity. Inclusivity has led to the recognition and incorporation of diverse publics in different departments of governments. Advocacy of gender equality has also formed a more significant part of inclusivity. However, governments have used the need for gender equality to promote manipulation of citizens through manipulation. This paper shall highlight how governments manipulate citizens through sexuality.
Exploitation of Transgender
           Lack of a uniform definition of gender has left a gap on people do determine what makes a male or a female. Most contemporary interpretations rely on the sexual organ of humans to decide on their sexual orientation. This is what most government also uses to determine the sex of their citizens. In this case, the duty to assess the sexual orientation of an individual automatically becomes the responsibility of the government. This action in itself seems to be an exploitation of citizens, as they do not have the digression of determining their sexes.            In addition to denying individuals the opportunity to determine their genders, transgender individuals have also been placed in vulnerable situations. Introduction of Transport Security Administration (TSA) in 2009 in the United States has come with some rules in airports that expose transgender people to humiliation. This is because TSA officials are directed to treat all physical anomalies on passengers at the airport as a threat. Transgender, on the other hand, has not been accounted for by the TSA, thus making them prone to be confused as a security threat. Lack of a uniform definition of gender creates a gap through which the TSA officials use their perception to decide on the gender of the passengers. In some cases, this form of determining the gender does not relay the gender that is on the passengers’ documents.            In the United States, sexuality has also been used as a tool through which the government manipulates its citizens, especially when it needs public backing.
