At their height, there were a large number of Chinatowns across the United States. Most prominently, they were found in the small cities like Oklahoma City and Cleveland and metro areas like Chicago and Los Angeles. The first and one of the biggest waves of Chinese immigrants arrived in the United States in the early 18th century, and the first Chinatown sprang up on the West Coast. In those days, immigrants were not paid good wages; in contrast, white workers were given excellent payments and measures were taken to replace Chinese workers with white employees. When it comes to talking about the cultural history of Chinatown in the United States, we can say that people used to be judged based on their religion, cast, color, and background. In one way or the other, Chinese laborers were brought down, paid less, blamed for stealing the money, and given tough times.
