Fairy Tales and the Use of Music in Them
The purpose of fairy tales is to teach morals, make people believe, and give them an idea that love exists no matter what the situation is. Sometimes there is a damsel in distress who needs saving or a prince who has never found the right kind of love in the palace. This is an indication that no matter what the background of the person is, love can find them and they can live happily ever after. However, in my opinion, the reality is not always like this and love is not the answer to everything. When a person is in love, sometimes they are not happy because it is not reciprocated. This is where the role of fairy tales come in because they become hopeful that one day they are going to find their prince or princess.
For instance, the story of “Beauty and the Beast” is a good example. A girl falls in love with a beast who has bene living alone in a castle for years. No matter what the beast has or owns, he is lonely and the only friends he has are the talking candles and pots. When he meets a girl, their fairy tale begins, but the girl is hesitant at first because of how the beast looks. She falls in love with him because of the kindness he has and his capacity to love truly. The story has a moral that physical appearance is not always a factor to love someone. This shows that the superficial idea of physical appearance is not present in love when there is goodness in the heart.
