Understanding the importance of historical artifacts in relation to the events that transpired in history is important for any student. It allows him to be able to make a critical analysis of the past and to use such knowledge for the improvement of the future. In this article, I would like to focus on the importance of the Declaration of Independence in relation to the events that transpired thereafter. Particularly, this would include the relevance of the artifact to the Patriots as well as its importance to the development of the United States Constitution. All in all, I believe that if not for the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution would not have been created in the first place.
The Declaration of Independence
One of the main personalities who started the liberation of the United States was the Patriots. The Patriots were a member of the Thirteen Colonies who has fought for their independence against the rule of Britain, which resulted in America’s independence back in July 1776. Aside from fighting for the independence of the American Nation against the British rule, the Patriots also helped in the improvement of the civil liberties of the people.
