One of the outstanding themes in this article is the theme of the history and art of the Transgender. According to the article the transgender groups were harassed, killed, and others were deported from the United States. As a result, people demanded that museums should be constructed for the sake of the marginalized groups. The Museum of Transgender History and Art (MOTHA) is a museum that has images, objects, and narratives of transgender people. The article focuses on the riot that occurred in 1969 and the brutality of the police officers. The article also describes the role of Trans women of color. In this article MOTHA also questions different institutions of power like the role of public art and historical narratives.
