Analysis of & Rings by Ariane Grande

Essay Instructions:

The topic of this course is Minimalism Music, and we listened to "It's gonna rain" (video references links: https://www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=5hQwkppWUY4 and https://www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=vugqRAX7xQE)
Essay Guideline:
Please choose a work of popular music to analyze in a short, 2–3page paper. As with our other analyses, we are interested here not in outside research, but simply in your own observations.
I don't want to set specific parameters, but: I strongly recommend choosing a piece of popular music that might relate in some way to the themes in our class. For example, I imagine that some sort of repetitive, groove-based piece of electronic dance music would be useful. Or something that deals with manipulating samples in some fashion.
The music I choose is "7 rings" by Ariana Grande (video link: https://www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=QYh6mYIJG2Y) I think it contains a repetitive, groove-based piece of electronic dance music content. But feel free to change the pop song if you have a better one.
For citation, try to use as little as possible, and if you are using citation, using more peer-reviewed articles and fewer website information.
Let me know if you have any additional information. Thanks

This paper discusses Ariane Grande's newest single, titled 7 Rings. The song 7 Rings is one of the least iconic singles done by Ariane Grande. However, she is accused of stealing lines and tunes from different other songs. But since I have associated with many musicians, I totally understand how songwriting can be.[Wald, Melissa. "Did you hear “7 Rings” or “My Favorite Things”? Ariana Grande’s Spin on a Classic Rodgers and Hammerstein Song Could Have Lasting Impact on an Iconic Brand and the Bottom Line." (2019).]
Also, true fans may have realized the 90s rom-com that Ariane Grande used in her song seven rings and Thank U. At the beginning of the song, Thank U, the 90s rom-com tunes play as Ariane's close allies and many recognizable Mean Girls Celebrities make a small parody of the film. In the song titled 7 Rings, the same notes are played at the start of the song, setting the pace for her latest musical trend.[Lugo, N. (2020). Popular Music Genres: The Past 70 Years to Now.]
Another noticeable thing about the song is the similarity it bears at the start to the song My Favorite things from The Sound of Music, sung by Julie Andrews. By beginning her song in this manner, Ariane appeals to the listener's emotions, giving them a popular beat to hum along while reminding them of the memories that they may have from The Sound of Music. Instead of writing songs about the innocent things that people are accustomed to in The Sound of Music, like "whiskers on kittens, warm woolen mittens and raindrop on roses", Ariane mentions more modern and expensive things like "ATM machines, diamonds and lashes". She immediately follows the lines with, "Buy me all of my favorite things." By using these lyrics, Ariane sends a very powerful statement- she can buy her own things and does not need anyone to buy her things. From this, we denote that Ariane is happy as an independent woman and even emphasizes that she prefers to be independent.[DESIRES, SONOROUS. "SWEET, SPIRITED, AND STIRR...
