Internship Report

Essay Instructions:

I've made a six months internship in Al bustan rotana hotel placed in Dubai near the Airport..
I want a table of content and and essay with 2000 words.
I was working as a trainee 6 months in front office
It was a really busy hotel and if it wasn't my observation and focusing and insisting to learn , i wouldn't got any of the steps it was a really hard pressure for me and the hotel was missing staff so i had to learn as much as i can in a short term so i can fill the empty space and work with the staff.. and thank God my mother tong language is arabian so even though i didn't have knowledge in the begging, but i asseted the staff since the beginning with translating and explaining to the guest..
We were using Opera program which i learnt in my second year and i had a back round about so by linking what i learned with my trainee helped me a lot to skip a lot of basics stuff.. And as well learning to manage and put our goals to accomplice it and to reach the reason why i came here , which is to learn..
As I mentioned before It was difficult to over load all of the information because the hotel was missing staff and we had to train under a really high pressure and trying to absorve most of the things , and i could fit there because of the similarity with the culture and the way of the arabian hospitality .
1- The thing that we all know about the guest is always right , I didn't really understand it till now in this internship .sometimes you can find the guest is shouting and wanting things without paying and claiming that everyone was bad to him and he is not happy ..So what i learnt is first you have to calm the problem as much as you can by telling him don't worry you will get whatever you want and i guarantee it so you take him seat him , inviting him for a drink then discuss the issue and ofc you apologise and agree with his mistake by putting your opinion , and most of the time what all they want is an upgrade for a room or bfast ,etc and as a supervisor or a manager those things wont effect to give it to him and you have to make him feel specially by using nice words..
2-Being busy in a reception is so dangerous some times because you might just give to worst of you to the guest and just trying to solve his issue.
what i learnt is , doing an interment and serving free beverages and tour maps would make it smoothly so the next guest wouldnt feel like waiting a lot and you don't need to rush .
3-You always have to satisfy your staff for better performance , so after a busy 2 months with making the revenue and more we felt bad because they just said thanks and ofc words not enough sometimes , so I talked to the staff and we agreed that all of us to talk to the director he agreed that we should a trip provided by the hotel and ofc all of us had to meet and talk and seeing the good part of work and by that , we wr happy to cont preforming and even more.
4- First impression is always the important and ofc you represent the hotel.
What they liked about me that i always use to clean wherever even if it wasn't mine and by doing it a lot of ppl followed and ofc we went to a better step by caring and its not only our job , its our home…
" And the rest just make anything out "..
Learning to take responsible for my mistakes and and specially thinking wisely and to far away .. And admitting that there is a problem always a first step of fixing it .. Trying to not take things deeply because dealing with that much of ppl and listening to there stories is big issue if you took it personal..
"You can write what you think is write to fix it or to add it into this information"
2000 words with the table of content not less please , thanks……………………………………………..

This internship report also provides an appraisal of the effectiveness of training and feedback that the establishment provides for internship students in the establishment. A reflective log of situations that I encountered during my internship is also provided. Lastly, this internship report provides a discussion of my personal growth and how I matured during my internship.
2.0 Observation and evaluation of the establishment
I undertook my internship at Al Bustan Hotel, a 5-star hotel that is situated 3 kilometers from the grand residential, entertainment and business development area of Dubai Festival City, and less than 2 kilometers from Dubai International Airport. The hotel also has offsite activities and recreation facilities for vacationers. This hotel is located 2 kilometers away from Dubai Creek Park, which presents lots of attractions and activities. Al Bustan Rotana Hotel has about 300 spacious suites and rooms equipped with coffee and tea making facility, high speed internet access, telephone, satellite television, hair dryer, safe, and a mini bar. This hotel establishment caters to the culinary cravings of its customers through its restaurants that serve international foods; poolside snack bar; lobby lounge café; and fine dining steakhouse. With regard to ownership, the establishment is privately owned. The style of management at this establishment is autocratic in which the superiors and top officials do not consider the suggestions and ideas of the subordinate staffs. The hotel’s superiors, leaders, and managers have the sole role of taking decisions without having to bother much regarding the subordinates. Under this leadership style, employees merely follow the policies and guidelines formulated by their superiors and do not have any say in the decisions the superiors make. The establishment exhibits conve...
