Technology advances have a great impact on changing the normal operations of human endeavors in the world. Hence, the modernization in the aircraft industry through the creation of faster and cost-effective aircrafts has made the world a small village where people can easily travel across. In this respect, this essay highlights the changes that the development and operation of a silent supersonic aircraft will bring to the world within the next two decades.
JAXA company has a plan of making a silent supersonic aircraft with a carrying capacity of between 30-50 passengers. The plan is to come up with an aircraft that will be flying at a very high speed. Besides, the design is to create a plane with a much lower sonic boom and trim as suggested by Akatsuka and Ishii (2020). Therefore, the aircraft will have a reduced effect of pollution in the environment. In other words, the plane will be airborne for a short time because of its extreme speed, thus emitting the least exhaust gases within a short time in comparison to subsonic planes. Also, people will transact business on a one on one basis at different continents, on the same day. This will be aided by the easy movements of the aircraft will be moving very first through direct intercontinental flight hence able to cover a large geographical region. Equally, cargo transport from one continent to another will be faster and effective, thus boosting multilateral trade leading to the rapid economic growth.
