After reading the article titled Internet Governance Forum-USA 2011 Potential-Future Scenario Discussion: Government Prevails, I have learned that the internet security governance is a system by which organizations direct and control their online security (2011). It should not be confused with IT management, which is concerned with deciding how to mitigate risks. A large number of challenges are associated with providing security while respecting privacy. First of all, user data has to be shared with the third party sites that ensure online security, and if personal details are shared with anyone, then some users may consider it a privacy issue as they will not want their information to be shared with the third party sites. Transparency is yet another challenge; for the wide government apparatus and the intelligence community, it is a matter of public image. In order to build trust, they have to act more effectively and need to explain how they honor their responsibilities and how they fulfill their duties toward the privacy of people. If they do not do so, then the public will lose their trust. In simple words, we can say that this is all about practicing effective oversight and demonstrating accountability.
Public-private collaboration is yet another concern; cooperation should be preventive and on a large scale (Radu, 2019). For instance, in the digital world of big data, intelligence agencies should be careful while collecting and sharing data on the internet.
