The level of accuracy in GPS determination is greatly influenced by the dilution of precision of the receiver and the transmitter. The Dilution of precision (DOP) could be geometrical, vertical, horizontal, positional and time dependent. The smaller the values of the DOPs, the better and more accurate the measurement and estimation processes are. Therefore, the accuracy of the GPS locations is dependent on the type of the receiver, which could be single receiver, real-time or dual receivers. The SPS (Standard Positioning Service) provides all the global positioning for the interested users. These estimations and approximations have to operate within certain acceptable error limits. The horizontal accuracy of the points on earth is 100 meters, while the corresponding vertical accuracy is 156 meters with a 340 ns. The predetermined accuracies were determined by a 24- satellite constellation with five-degree elevation and clear of any obstructions. The GPS locations in urban centers could be highly compromised by the numerous obstructions and interferences from the sky creepers and environmental emissions. Thus, the error in the position of the exact positioning of an object or place on earth is dependent on the dilution of precision. The alignment of the receiver with respect to the transmitter has a significant bearing on the position precision.
