Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is an improvement model used to develop and maintain products and services as it combines the best performances focusing on productivity, performance, cost and people’s satisfaction (Carnegie, 2001). Capacity maturity model integration (CMMI) is a model with particular regulation used in order to evaluate the capability of group of people performing a specific order. CMMI are different based on its software engineering and system engineering among other disciplines.
CMMI was formed to sort problems using different CMMI .Therefore it combines several models into a single improved framework to be utilized by organization in pursuit of improved work process. This process require consensus, therefore the framework should be able to accommodate several disciplines and should be flexible to support different representations. There are two types of representation to choose from, these are the continuous and staged representation. It is advisable to choose the one the organization is familiar with .CMMI has three models these are the system engineering, software engineering and integrated product and process development. System engineering includes developing the total systems focusing on transforming needs, expectations and constrains into product solution and supporting the solutions throughout (Kenett, 2007).
