There is no shortage of technology available to organizations wishing to implement such approaches. The difference between network administration and systems administration
Since the advent of the technological age and information explosion, there has been some form of confusion or assumption when it comes to the technological experts. Even though most of the duties of these experts tend to overlap in one way or the other, the fact still remains that they do different jobs and all of them contribute quite differently to their respective causes. This has been the case with system and network administrators, two very important people as far as systems and networks go.
For a long time, system administration and network administration have been mistaken to refer to similar thing. Even to this day, there are indeed some people who still confuse these two, taking one for the other. The practice of the two administrations draws a delicate line that makes it simple to confuse one for the other. The confusion has made it tough for many people especially those who are not in the Information Technology to take the description of one to mean the other (Industrial Network Security, 2015). In untangling the confusion that exists in distinguishing the two administrations that existed regarding the system, there is a need for keen consideration of the specific dimensions that make each structure along with their practices.
The differences between network administration and systems administration results from the significant amount of overlap between skills and duties. However, in some organizations, there are no practical differences between the two issues. The traffic between the functions performed by the network administration and system administration are extremely common and has few barriers. This simply means that the nature amount of tasks handled by these two,is more or less identical, thus striking the similarity between them.
The restrictions result with different training course or some knowledge gained in some positions that allows an individual to switch position either from network administration to security administration and vice versa (Jone, 2016). The reasons for distinguishing the network and safety administration result from the varied and complicated purpose of each administrator. Therefore, the fundamental distinction between the two administrations bases on the definition of both the system and the network. The network refers to the connectivity of devices that facilitate the transfer of information. The network therefore, entails all the elements that make communication over the devices, possible. Besides, system relates to the devices that are in the position to carry out electronic work, for instance, computer and server.
The use of system administration and network administration interchangeably by different organizations results in the need to differentiate the two about job responsibilities along with types of equipment (Industrial Network Security, 2015).
