I’m your name from the institution of affiliation. Just a few weeks ago I’ve realized that most of the time, we have turned a blind eye towards issues which we think are of out our scope. Issues which seems too big, that even the biggest of our efforts would not even make a dent. However, just a week ago, my opinion on the matters of these kinds of issues have immediately changed when I saw how one act of kindness, could easily translate to a work that could potentially save millions of other lives as long as we cooperate together and put our best efforts into it, especially because of the fact that this is not only a problem in other faces of the world but also something that’s happening in our own backyard.
One of the most significant issue that most Latin countries face today is poverty. According to the United Nations, 300 million people live below poverty line of $1.25 in a day. Perhaps, this is not new for anyone of us anymore. We all know, see, and hear cases of people getting sick and dying because of lack of proper access to basic necessities such as food, water, and shelter. However, instead of acting and doing something to alleviate this, most people would turn their heads to the government and other state actors, and play the blaming game. In my opinion, this hinders progress and even adds to the problem itself. In my opinion, even the smallest of any act that we do, can help if done collectively. Some researches and programs created by International NGOs and such as relief programs, awareness raising, and educational discussions.
