Based on the film Transforming Gender, I was able to find out that even these days, where themes of gender awareness are much easier and open to discuss, there still exist a lot of hate and violence directed towards homosexual behavior. More specifically, the film was able to discuss this by giving a closer look towards the transgender community and the social issues that they are facing today. According to the film, society’s high acceptance towards transgender individuals are not as open as today. In the early days of this practice of changing one’s sex, many abuses and violence have been aimed at the members of this community. However, despite the significant improvement in how society view them, these individuals are still considered to be the most vulnerable too be harassed, abused, or discriminated.
