According to Cynthia, servant leadership emphasizes the need for following the self-interests of a leader (Giltinane, 2013). It describes how the leader should actually behave. He or she should be able to take strong ethical actions and must provide clear direction to everybody who is working under him or her. Transformational leadership, charismatic leadership, and transactional leadership also have their distinctive traits, characteristics or features. The purpose of all these types or styles of leadership is to motivate the team to give their best and this motivation directly or indirectly comes from an effective or successful leader.
Dana says that transactional leadership is the best style or type of leadership (TeamWork Definition, 2019). It happens when people respond on the basis of the rewards given to them during a particular period of time. If someone is not given good rewards, he or she may lose interest in a specific job and will not try to perform well. Dana further mentions that this leadership style mainly focuses on tactics that are meant to influence peers, superiors and subordinates.
