In her article titled 7 Unique Challenges Homeless Women Face – and what you can do to Help, Dupere informs her readers about the challenges that homeless women face. She begins by noting the obvious challenges which include uncertainty, stigma, and the struggle that comes with homelessness. She then proceeds to single out the problems homeless women face while on the streets or the shelters. Dupere seems heavily invested in the article and topic and offers her readers pieces of information often ignored by the mainstream media.
First of all, after her introduction, she divides her article into seven points which she uses to discuss the problems facing homeless women. From the first point, it is indeed clear that there are problems homeless women face which are specific to them. These issues are not only grave but also greatly interferes with the lives of these women. For example, the issues of access to menstruation products, access to comprehensive maternal health care and decreased personal safety directly impacts the lives of these women.
Finally, it is essential to note how Dupere makes use of credible sources when she is providing her audience with factual information. Additionally, she is also prompting her readers into offering a helping hand to the homeless women by including an additional section in each point where she explains to her readers what they can do to help. Dupere is indeed well-informed on the matter at hand and her article is a testament to this fact.

Weston starts his article with a statement that seeks to elicit certain emotions from his readers. “You don’t hear much about them, but they’re out there. They’re lucky if they find shelter. They’re lucky if they don’t get physically or sexually abused.” This statement is one that brings a reader to the problems faced by homeless women. Weston’s article is keen to express and inform the readers that homeless women are living a dangerous life. By being on the streets, a majority of women become easy targets and eventually victims of physical and sexual abuse.
Weston notes that domestic violence is the biggest cause of homelessness among women a fact that is often ignored or never mentioned. However, the sad bit as is revealed by Weston’s article is that after being victims at home, a majority of women find themselves as victims again on the streets. Weston does not stop here and even provides his readers with statistics which simply help to show how women are becoming homeless in great numbers.
