The sterilization of Leilani Muir was one of those acts that can be considered as not only the violation of the basic human rights but also inhuman. Leilani has presented a classic case study which leads to my conclusion that the idea of providing bureaucrats with the power to control a person’s reproductive rights is a violation of their human rights and human dignity.
I agree with the arguments of Kerr and Shakespeare that the introduction of eugenics into the human social system leads to a series of abuse of human rights and other abusive behaviors against those disabled and those with mental problems. The two contend that it’s on this note that the Eugenics led to the atrocities and the horrors of the Nazi regime. While Eugenics may be appreciated as contributing to the production of high quality beings, the fact that it leads to demonization of the reproduction of people with other disabilities, disqualifies its universal application by bureaucrats in...
