Sex and Gender Socialization
There has been a lot of debate about the difference between gender and sex. According to Cynthia Carter, sex of a person is purely based on his/her biological characteristics, while gender represents his/her personal, cultural and societal perceptions of sexuality (Carter, 2012, p. 364). Even though the world has changed a lot, as well as the mentality of people, women are not given as much respect as they actually deserve. We live in a male-dominating society. As a girl, I have always been pushed behind the race by my own father, brother, husband and other males (Carter, 2012).
