Murders are categorized as homicide or mass killings depending on the number of people one has killed and the time span. Holmes &Holmes (2010) define a serial killer as one that has killed more than three people. There are reasons why people commit murder and clinical psychologists have come up with ways of rehabilitating murderers.Morgan Lane Arnold, a 14-year-old girl was charged with conspiracy to commit murder of her blogger and a commercial real estate agent father. After weeks of plotting the murder, she stabbed her father to death at their home on the 10th of May 2013. She was sent to a juvenile prison until her trial was heard and she pleaded guilty at 17. She was charged with first-degree murder and sentenced to life. Her sentence was reduced to 30 years after the judge William Tucker acknowledged that she suffered from a serious mental disorder.

Although both murders were planned weeks before they happened, Lane`s murder was most amendable to rehabilitation due to the mental illness she had. Mental disorder could make a person commit a crime since this person is not in their right mind. Treatments are given to mentally ill patients and when crimes are committed by them, they are amended due to their illnesses as compared to an offender without mental disorder. Juveniles are recommended for rehabilitation centers where they can learn and change their behaviors with good response to therapy and admitting to the crime...
