Goodluck!!! Hey. Hope you're doing ok. and you know this paper is due in less then a week from now. Here i got some tips for you writing the paper; [3] Nietzsche holds that the key event in the evolution of moral concepts is the “slave revolt in morality,” in which ressentiment brought about an inversion of the knightly/aristocratic values. What does he mean? How did this happen? Is he correct? This essay topic deals with Book I of the Genealogy. The prompt is divided into three parts. The first two questions “what does he mean” and “How did this happen” just ask you to explicate Nietzsche's account of the slave revolt. You want to explicate the process by which the slave revolt occured, not the particular series of historical events that constitute the slave revolt. The history just serves as an example of the process - it is not the main point. In the explication you also want to be able to explain how and why Nietzsche is talking about these things in a historical way. “Is he correct” is just the prompt for you to give some analysis. You do not want to talk about the historical veracity of his claims. Instead you want to focus on the reasoning underlying the process he describes and consider whether or not it is any good. My remarks: Key terms to focus on in the essay are the distinciton between good/bad and good/evil- how are they related? What role do these, and other terms (like ressentiment) play in the account? [4] Nietzsche argues that “if one disregards the ascetic ideal” then human lives have no meaning (§28). State and assess his argument. First you have to understand what Nietzsche means by “ascetic ideal” and “meaning”. What is it for a human life to not have meaning (according to Nietzsche)? Explicate his argument for the ascetic ideal being essential to having a meaningful life. The critical analysis portion just asks you to consider whether or not his argument is any good. Can our lives have meaning if we disregard the ascetic ideal? Make sure you are working with Nietzsche's understanding of “meaning” here. This is the message by T.A. So it will help for sure.

Argumentative Paper Only on Friedrich Nietzsche: Ascetic Ideal
The genealogy of the ascetic ideal in morality is the reason as to why man suffers of himself. In a quest to instigate a slave revolt in morality, the role of the ascetic priest is morally based on the ascetic ideal. The ascetic priest has got values that originate from an ensuing battle between the master and slave morality which causes ressentiment for the former. Nietzsche identifies these values as selflessness, self sacrifice and self denial (Nietzsche 59). However, the ascetic priest ideal has its aftermath which includes denying life and altering the goals of self reflection. An analysis the genealogy of slave morality reveals the power of ascetic ideal in which Nietzsche argues that "if one disregards the ascetic ideal" then human lives have no meaning (Nietzsche 28). Human lives will lack meaning if the ascetic ideal is overlooked. This will be the basis of this paper.
In the first Treatise on Good and bad, Good and evil, Nietzsche stipulates that the importance of unegoistic action as a source of praise has been forgotten by man (Nietzsche 11). According to Nietzsche, the aristocrats originally viewed the world as either good or bad. Therefore, a noble will act according to his will and regard it good insisting on his will to power. Such an individual will use their political superiority as proof of their integrity. Anyone else will be portrayed as bad and not up to the noble`s integrity. The powerlessness of the ascetic priest causes enmity between them and aristocratic values as Nietzsche argues. The consequence of being powerless is that the hate of the ascetic priest grows into what Nietzsche describes as enormous and uncanny. This together with "the spirit of priestly revenge" undermines nobility and its values (Nietzsche 16). An ascetic priest in competition with nobility for mi...
