The Rationale for Selecting Michael The reason for selecting Michael to be the subject for the assessment is because he holds a complex case involving childhood trauma, substance abuse, multiple mental health diagnoses, and a history of drug use at a young age. As a counselor, Michael is a significant step in my career. I have observed progressive, positive changes during my six months of practice as a counselor. The case allowed me to apply and execute my learned skills while evaluating the success of my counseling technique.
General Description of Michael
Michael is a 37-year-old Indian American. He suffered from abuse in childhood and has used multiple drugs since he was nine. His parents were both alcoholics and drug addicts. He also has many mental health diagnoses.

In this location in his life cycle, his major development task includes healing from childhood trauma and dealing with his substance abuse. In his health development assessment, Michals's source of various health problems is tied to long-term drug use, which has also caused physical health challenges. Psychologically, Michale faces many diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, contributing to substance abuse. In the progressive interaction with Michael, it is vital to explore his spiritual and cultural beliefs and the way they will help him
