Abigail is a client that you have been working with for the last six months. The last two times you have seen Abigail she reported feelings of depression, hopelessness, and isolation. Abigail shows up for her appointment visibly intoxicated. When you go up to greet Abigail for her appointment, she starts sobbing uncontrollably and states that she doesn't want to live anymore.
Abigail shows up for her appointment and while in session she states that she doesn't believe that you are helping her anymore and wants to discontinue services that day.

Introduction
Dealing with crisis management in human services takes time and patient in order to deliver a high-quality service for the involved individual who will be the main focus of the procedure. In this issue, the main concern is the existence of personal crisis applied under the human services sector, which is tasked to handle patients suffering both emotional and cognitive distress. This is the case of Abigail who has been reported to show signs and symptoms of depression such as hopelessness, role isolation, and with a previous history of self-harm. Aside from suicidal risks, the patient is also on substance abuse situation, which is usually identified from individuals suffering from similar psychological condition at a certain period of time. This paper aims to describe the steps that will be applied in the given scenarios.
The first situation is that Abigail does not show up for a regular scheduled appointment. This is a situation wherein it needs the cooperation of Abigail’s family members or other close friends that has been known to be living with her in the same household. This means that safety is one of the most important concerns since Abigail has a strong tendency to commit self-harm that failed during her initial attempts from the past that was admitted by her. The staff should immediately initiate the search for Abigail’s presence for the reason that she might have propagated harm to herself, which is why she is no longer responding to any calls or initiated contact through phone or email. It is important to inform Abigail’s immediate family members regarding her recent behavior for missing her appointments because her condition could relapse (Boswell, et al., 2014).
The second scenario is when Abigail showed up during the scheduled appointment wherein she is obviously intoxicated. The status of Abigail in this situation is considerably having the potential to become violent against others as well as against to herself. Administering vitamin B-Complex as allowed by the physician will be applied to her in order to decrease the level of alcoholic toxicity to her system as well as letting her drink using an energy drink that contains electrolytes to prevent her from dehydration. Since she is showing emotional disbursement by telling that she does not want to live anymore, it is important to let her freely express her frustrations. The rationale for this response is to release her frustrations during the course of the therapy as a way to prevent her from committing self-harm or violence against other individuals (Cassidy & Shaver, 2016).
