Language plays an essential role since it is the primary form of communication among human beings. With America being a vastly vast country with an increase in multilinguistic communities, communication problems are likely to occur. Consequently, English, being the primary language, should be maintained to ensure smooth communication among all citizens.
Firstly, a mismatch in linguistics management may lead to problems during tragedies in cases where first responders cannot communicate with victims that do not speak English (Baugh, n.d.). Such instances prevent adequate responses critical to saving lives that may be brought about by such communication gaps. Therefore, such a multilinguistic society would continually diminish the success rates of emergency services hence ultimately reduce the effectiveness of health services around the country.
