The article COMMUNITY-BASED CHILD WELFARE FOR ABORIGINAL CHILDREN: SUPPORTING RESILIENCE THROUGH STRUCTURAL CHANGE by Cindy Blackstock and Nico Trocmé highlights the challenges faced by displaced aboriginal children. As an extension therefore, the article addresses child welfare for these kids, and the underlying challenges faced. It tries identifying the circumstances that can ably support welfare agencies geared towards helping these children and such aboriginal families. The authors advocate for a comprehensive structural change in the manner that the community-based care of these children can be exacted. With such solutions, the article also sheds light on how the future can be, once these changes have been embraced and implemented.
