What do you think is the most important function of the IMF?
The IMF (International Monetary Fund), consisting of over 185 countries, has always been forefront to promote employment and reduce the rate of poverty all over the world. Since 1945, it has initiated various programs and campaigns to let the world the significance of well-paying jobs. These days, poverty has reached an alarming level in under-developed countries, especially some African countries. The IMF aims to help the poor and needy in those areas and help the governments sustain economic growth. I believe that besides facilitating international trade, securing financial stability and fostering monetary cooperation worldwide, the IMF’s two major functions are reducing the rates of unemployment and poverty in all parts of the world (Duval & Furceri, 2018).
