Understanding the various elements that lead to violence and social war is essential for policymakers. It allows them to address the various issues that could stem a revolution or civil war and promote lasting peace and growth. In line with this, this article would focus on the various aspects that cause political violence and revolution. This includes the major causes that lead to new kinds of revolutionary mechanisms in most parts of the world. All in all, the author believes that while political violence and revolution may stem from various overlapping factors, some of the most relevant include the fight over a limited territory for the same belief, coupled with an increasing doubt in the capability of the State.
Causes of Political Violence and Revolution
One of the leading causes of Political Violence or Revolution is the fight over conflicting ideologies or beliefs within a limited territory. Generally, most States have enough space to accommodate hundreds, if not thousands, of varying beliefs. This is true since modern laws give utmost importance to tenets like Freedom to Believe, Freedom of Speech, and other human rights related to the belief and practice.
