The article by Junod captures the spirit of the terror attack that took place on 9/11. More importantly, the article captures several subtle elements of the photograph taken by Richard Drew. In the picture is the image of a man falling to his death from the north tower. This is an image that speaks to the viewer in more than one ways. While the image is a frame in the horrific events that has befallen America that early morning, it is a photograph that captures the moments before death of the person in the picture. The article dwells much on the impact that by extension was experienced by those that were watching from the streets as scores of tried to escape the fires, collapsing roofs and the smoke. As Junod explains in this paragraph, not long after the plane hit the tower, than the people started jumping from the windows.
‘They began jumping not long after the first plane hit the North Tower, notlong after the fire started. They kept jumping until the tower fell. They jumpedthrough windows already broken and then, later, through windows they brokethemselves.
