Exploring Qualitative Field Research
Qualitative field research is the method of choice when a research question requires an understanding of processes, events, and relationships in the context of their social and cultural situations. Instead of generating numerical data supporting or refuting clear-cut hypotheses, qualitative research aims to produce factual descriptions based on face-to-face observation or questioning of individuals and social groups in their natural settings. Researchers commonly use this method to gather in-depth descriptions of procedures, beliefs, and knowledge of particular groups, or to explore decision-making concerning behavior.
For this Discussion, consider potential strengths and limitations of qualitative field research. Then conceptualize two research questions related to a criminal justice topic in which you are interested that could be tested using qualitative field research.

This leads to extensive understanding of ideas communicated by the interviewee. Besides, the examiner can fully examine the research participants to discover an important subject for more research (Robinson, 2014).
Also, the research pattern is pliable, and the investigator can adjust it when the need arises. The examiner can decide to adjust the setting and condition of the study during the research process. It is difficult to plan the study at the initial stage of research. The ability of qualitative study to be flexible allows one to change the design afterwards due to the early shortcoming of the study (Robinson, 2014). Moreover, the research is cheap to conduct. It saves the budget of the researcher since few resources are required. The materials required to conduct qualitative inquiry are very cheap and available. This strength lacks in quantitative studies which require a lot of materials and resources to collect and analyze data.
Qualitative studies have a natural cogency when compared to reviews and trials. The measurements of this kind of study meet the goal of the researcher. The standard of the research results is high and actually reflects the objectives of the examiner. They therefore present established validity compared to quantitative investigations (Dattalo, 2010).
Limitations of Qualitative Inquiry
